About Your New Role and Responsibilities
The Defence Digital Modernisation (DDM) Business Operations team is seeking a highly skilled Technical Editor to join our dynamic team on a large Defence Program. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping and delivering clear, accurate, and impactful written artifacts that support both internal and external stakeholders. Your work will ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with policies, while enabling effective engagement across multiple audiences.
Responsibilities
Edit, proofread, and review a wide range of technical and non-technical materials for diverse audiences, including internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients.
Ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with company and customer vision, style, and tone.
Oversee and manage document workflows.
Provide subject matter guidance on communication best practices and standards, influencing approaches to solution design and process delivery.
Contribute to the delivery of critical program milestones by ensuring all content supports stakeholder understanding and program success.
About You
Demonstrated experience in technical editing, writing, and content management within large, complex Defence programs or similar environments.
Demonstrated previous experience with Defence Writing Standards.
Strong command of grammar, syntax, style, and tone, with the ability to adapt messaging to varied audiences.
Exceptional attention to detail with strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across internal and external groups.
• This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen, hold an NV-1 level security clearance.
