THE OPPORTUNITY

The Head of Community Engagement is a senior leadership position responsible for leading the College's integrated engagement portfolio across Admissions, Marketing, Events and Alumni relations. Reporting to the Headmaster and sitting on the College Leadership Team, the role provides strategic direction, operational leadership, and people management to ensure consistent, high‐quality experiences for current and prospective families, alumni and community stakeholders.

This is a pivotal opportunity to shape how Somerset College connects with its community and positions itself for future growth. As a trusted member of the College Leadership Team, you will influence strategic direction, drive sustainable enrolment outcomes and strengthen the College's brand and partnerships in a competitive educational environment. The role offers breadth, impact and visibility, suited to a leader who combines strategic thinking with a strong relational and service‐oriented approach.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & PARTNERSHIPS
* Lead the College's end‐to‐end community experience across families, alumni and partners
* Build strategic partnerships and sponsorships supporting College priorities
* Serve as executive liaison for Alumni and Parents' and Friends' Associations
* Provide strategic oversight of College events and community engagement activities
MARKETING, COMMUNICATIONS & BRAND
* Deliver the annual College Communications and Engagement Strategy
* Lead integrated marketing campaigns and oversee all publications and digital channels
* Ensure brand consistency, media oversight and data‐informed engagement practices
* Partner with IT and leadership to align the College's digital presence with strategic priorities
ADMISSIONS LEADERSHIP
* Lead enrolment strategy to achieve and sustain student number targets across all cohorts
* Oversee open days, tours, information sessions and enrolment campaigns
* Lead enrolment analytics, forecasting, competitor analysis and compliance requirements
* Oversee admissions compliance, including student movements and international requirements
* Foster a collaborative, values‐aligned and wellbeing‐focused culture
* Oversee performance, professional development, workforce planning and compliance requirements
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP, GOVERNANCE & RISK
* Contribute as an active member of the College Leadership Team
* Support strategic planning, budgeting and financial accountability
* Oversee policy compliance, risk management and ethical practice across the portfolio
* Drive continuous improvement through insight, reflection and evidence‐based decision making
ABOUT YOU

You are a strategic, relational and values‐led leader with a proven ability to drive engagement, enrolment and brand outcomes, ideally within an educational or complex service environment.

* Demonstrated experience leading admissions, marketing, communications or stakeholder portfolios
* Proven success in enrolment strategy, forecasting and sustainability.
* Strong people leadership skills with a collaborative and service‐orientated approach
* High‐level interpersonal, organisational and analytical capability
* A strategic mindset, with the ability to translate vision into measurable outcomes
* Integrity, discretion and sound judgement within a senior leadership context
* Tertiary qualifications in Community Engagement, Marketing, Education or a related discipline (highly regarded)
* Eligibility to hold (or obtain) a Queensland Working with Children Blue Card and First Aid certification
