As a support teacher in Orange, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of young minds, contributing to their academic and personal development.

Suitable applicants must be a person of Christian faith and integrity and align with the school’s values and ethos.

Two Positions:

We are looking for a Student Support Officer and a Learning Support Officer to offer support across the Secondary School.

Essential criteria for the role:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications for the position (Cert III in Education Support - minimum)

- Minimum 2 years experience working in a Secondary School setting or similar

- Demonstrable experience working with neuro-diverse students and their families

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing and working with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD);

- Ability to provide tailored intervention support in Literacy and Numeracy to Secondary students.

- An understanding of and commitment to student care and discipline

- Be team builders, fostering collaboration and commitment

- Be committed to collaboration across all levels within the School community

- Well-developed written, organisational and communication skills

- An ability to plan, reflect, work and manage time effectively with minimal supervision

- Implement school policies that manage and develop appropriate student behaviours.

- Participate in student supervision duties, and extra-curricular activities such as excursions, sports, school and community events.

- Attend staff meetings and professional development activities

- Willing to work towards proficiency in line with the Australian Teacher’s Aides Standards

- Competent use of technology for development of lesson planning, teaching, student assessment and administrative functions

- Comply with, and reinforce health and safety policy and procedures within the workplace, and engage in mandatory training as directed

All positions involve working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including a valid Working with Children Check.
