About the role
This fixed-term, part-time role combines office, donor centre, and home-based work.
The successful candidate must be available to attend the office and donor centres regularly (each week).
This exciting role is responsible for providing medical guidance to optimise donor, recipient and blood component safety, in conjunction with medical specialists within Lifeblood.
A portion of the work is provided via a rostered telephone advisory line.
Flexible working hours including evenings and weekend shifts will be required following a training period.
There will also be the opportunity to participate in research to support medical policy development.
The role reports to the Lead Medical Officer and is a part of a national Medical Officer team.
The role works closely with medical specialists, nurses and administrative staff and liaises with scientists and other technical staff.
Please note this role can be based in any state.

Here's what we're looking for:
At least 2 years' clinical experience
Current full registration with the Medical Board of Australia
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
Proven ability to work independently and in diverse cross functional teams
High level of competence in use of information technology, including MS Office, and ability to rapidly acquire proficiency in use of Blood Service databases, use of telephony related applications, and utilisation of the Blood Service intranet.
