Remuneration: Based on Classification

Clinical Psychologist: $2, $2,551.92 per week

Nurse Unit Manager Level 2: $2,627.59 per week

Occupational Therapist Level 5: $2, $2,564.94 per week

About the Opportunity

South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is seeking an experienced and passionate mental health professional to lead the Macarthur and Wollondilly Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS) and Safeguards Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within a well-established, multidisciplinary service that provides specialist mental health care to children and adolescents (up to 17 years) across the extended Campbelltown and Wollondilly region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping service delivery, strengthening partnerships, and supporting staff development in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

As Team Leader, you will:

* Provide clinical and operational leadership to a dedicated team of mental health professionals.
* Foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including inpatient services such as the Adolescent mental health unit, other MHS teams, and community organisations.
* Support the professional growth and development of staff through supervision, mentoring, and strategic workforce planning.
* Contribute to service innovation and continuous improvement in collaboration with the Macarthur/Wingecarribee Community Mental Health Managers.

What You'll be Doing

The Team Leader is responsible for the leadership, guidance and line management of the Macarthur and Wollondilly Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS) and Safeguards Team in collaboration with their manager.

They provide supervision, support and clinical expertise within Mental Health services for the delivery of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality, recovery focused and person-centered care. They are involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services. They identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, as well as service delivery and develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff and teams within the district.

SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.

These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

1. Relevant qualifications as either: Occupational Therapist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); Qualified Social Worker which provides eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW); Full Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with full endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology or eligibility to progress to 'Clinical Psychology Endorsement' with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent; Registered Nurse, currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Describe a time when you led a multidisciplinary mental health team through a complex clinical situation. How did you ensure evidence-based, recovery-oriented, and culturally appropriate care was delivered, and what strategies did you use to monitor performance and outcomes across the team?
3. Explain how you have contributed to clinical governance and quality improvement within a mental health service. How did you engage with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen service delivery, and what outcomes were achieved through these partnerships?
4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
