About the Role
We are seeking experienced and motivated tradespeople to join our specialist team maintaining and supporting Flashbutt Welding equipment in the field.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands on work, problem solving, autonomy, and working in a dynamic rail environment.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Flashbutt welding machines and associated support equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform planned maintenance, repairs, and fault finding on Flashbutt welding machines.
Diagnose and report electrical and welding-related faults.
Ensure all welding units operate safely and achieve high quality weld performance.
Complete daily maintenance and operational reports.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and site housekeeping standards.
Inspect and maintain support equipment including shears and quench rigs.
Work collaboratively with operational teams to minimise downtime and maximise reliability.
Always uphold strict safety and compliance standards.
What We're Looking For
Electrotechnology / Electrical Mechanics.
Minimum 2–5 years post trade experience.
Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
White Card.
Current C-Class Driver's Licence (HR highly regarded).
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
Highly Regarded
Welding knowledge and understanding of welding processes.
Experience working on heavy machinery or rail equipment.
Electrical assembly and maintenance experience.
Field service or remote site experience.
