We are currently seeking an experienced **Buyer **for our Rolling Stock Sourcing team to join forces with our existing team, all building the foundations for a pivotal rail project for Victoria.

Based at the manufacturing site in Ballarat, this role is responsible for day to day activities involving supplier development, RFQ management, supplier and contract negotiations and business award conclusion with Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage specific supplier panel relationship including negotiation and specific agreements and performances)
- Active participation to commodity strategy and panel elaboration
- Support of Commodity Manager in tender phase
- Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms and solutions.
- Preparation and launch of Request For Quotation with suppliers using the standard tool
- Monitor sourcing project QCDT & legal project evolution (FAI, Business Award, Product development)
**What we are looking for**:
- Demonstrated experience with purchasing and/or the procurement processes
- A highly proficient user of SAP
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to connect with relevant stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues
- Knowledge of fasteners, chemicals, glue or similar commodities would be desirable
