Overview

This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve months and suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which casual appointment may be made when vacancies occur.

About the role

The Department of Justice operates a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing accredited training to adults in prison. The Education, Employment and Training Services works towards assisting students to acquire, develop, practice and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need now and, in the future, to take responsible control of their own lives.

* Opportunities to encourage adults to turn their lives around by providing them with education and skills to develop their capabilities

* Teachers/Trainers and Assessors with qualifications and experience in literacy, numeracy and vocational training (including Business, Horticulture, First Aid, Hospitality, White Card, Art, Hairdressing) are encouraged to apply.

Vacancy Locations

Education, Employment and Transitional Services (EETS) within Department of Justice provides opportunities for casual employment across the following locations:

North metro

* Wooroloo

South metro

* Casuarina
* Canning Vale

Regional

* Roebourne
* Bunbury
* Albany

To be eligible for a Casual Teacher/Trainer and Assessor appointment you need to have the following:

* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
* Applicants who do not yet hold the above credentials are still eligible to apply, however the Department may require the recommended candidate to obtain qualification prior to appointment.
* Applicants with tertiary teaching qualifications are eligible to undertake specific teaching and assessing roles.

* Provide a comprehensive Resume / Curriculum Vitae, that clearly outlines your transferable skills, experience and highlights your key achievements.
* A statement of no more than two (2) pages addressing the following:
* Qualifications, including Certificate IV Training and Assessment
* Experience in teaching or delivery of accredited training and assessment
* Communication Skills: Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills
* Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise, organise and complete tasks within set timeframes
* A copy of your current qualification/s.
* Contact details of two work related referees.

Pool Recruitment

This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Casual appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies, with/within the Education, Employment and Transitional Services for the duration of the pool.
