Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Electrician role based in Alice Springs, NT. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment across a variety of settings, ensuring all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical drawings, performing wiring and terminations, conducting routine inspections, identifying faults, and completing timely repairs. The role also involves testing electrical systems, documenting completed work, coordinating with supervisors and other trades, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. The successful candidate will respond to service requests, support planned maintenance schedules, and contribute to continuous improvement of electrical reliability and safety.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in electricity principles and safe work practices, including understanding of voltage, current, and power.
* Hands‐on experience in electrical work, including installation, wiring, and commissioning of electrical systems and components.
* Proficiency in maintenance & repair of electrical equipment, with the ability to perform routine servicing and corrective work.
* Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement practical, safe solutions.
* Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts as they relate to system design, load calculations, and compliance with relevant standards.
* Recognized electrical trade qualification and current electrician license applicable to NT, with up‐to‐date knowledge of local codes.
* Demonstrated commitment to safety, including use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and adherence to company safety policies.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with supervisors, clients, and other trades on‐site.
* Current valid driver's license and ability to work on‐site in varying environmental conditions in and around Alice Springs.
