About BRAMS Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service that has been delivering comprehensive, culturally safe primary health care to the Broome community for over 45 years.
About the Role We are seeking an Aboriginal Liaison Officer to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, consumers and families to access, engage with and benefit from BRAMS' Disability and Allied Health Services.
Working across both teams, you will provide cultural brokerage between clinicians and participants, support attendance at appointments, advocate on behalf of participants and families, and help them navigate the broader service system. The role also includes home visits and community-based outreach, providing cultural advice to clinicians, and contributing to a culturally safe environment across BRAMS' services.
This is an Identified position, open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only, in accordance with section 51 of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth) and section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA).

* Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
* Demonstrated capacity to act as a cultural broker, advocate and trusted point of contact for Aboriginal participants, consumers and families.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes allied health clinicians and disability services staff.
* Willingness and ability to undertake home visits and community-based outreach.
* Sound verbal communication skills and willingness to develop written documentation skills with support.
* High level of integrity in maintaining community and organisational confidentiality.
