Fantastic opportunity for a PA02 (APS 6) Communications Professional to join a civic based Federal Government Department in a diverse and rewarding role.
As part of a small and cohesive External Relations team, you will work alongside other service delivery teams in the Communications Branch to develop and implement communication strategies, products and publications. You will work with clients in the role of account managers to develop: communication strategies and implementation plans; accessible and user/audience centric content; and, brand compliant collateral.
This is initially a 12 month non-ongoing contract, with S26 transfers a possibility. Central Canberra location, with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.

**Key duties**:
- Provide strategic advice and services to internal and external clients and stakeholders on engagement, social media and communication issues
- Lead internal and external communication projects with mínimal direction
- Develop and implement communication, engagement, digital and /or social media strategies, and monitor and evaluate the outcomes
- Coordinate, advise and respond to communication inquiries from internal clients
- Write and edit a broad range of communication materials, drawing information from a range of sources
- Liaise and negotiate with internal clients, stakeholders, industry, community, media and government organisations

**Skills and Experience required**:
- A cadetship or a degree in public affairs or related discipline, and/or 5 years' relevant work experience in a similar role
- Experience developing and implementing strategic communication plans, monitoring progress and adjusting plans and activities as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to build and sustain relationships and negotiate confidently with a range of stakeholders and clients
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively, whilst establishing and maintaining productive working relationships within the team and branch
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and complete a range of projects and activities within set timeframes
- strong problem-solving skills with the ability to generate creative and innovative solutions
- Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance
