The Opportunity
As the Senior Analyst for Property Strategy & Finance, you will be a key commercial partner to the Woolworths Property team. You will not only provide rigorous financial analysis and decision support but also play an integral role in shaping the long‑term strategy for our multi‑billion dollar property portfolio.
You will be responsible for translating complex data into compelling, actionable insights that will influence critical investment decisions, from new store developments and network planning to major renewals and divestments. This role requires a strategic mindset coupled with exceptional financial modelling and commercial acumen.
What you’ll do
- Support the development of long‑term property strategies through market and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Own and improve performance reporting for Property Management, ensuring data accuracy whilst preparing strategic reviews for senior leadership.
- Create data‑driven business cases for strategic initiatives and conduct post‑investment reviews to evaluate project success.
- Serve as a key finance business partner, offering commercial advice and challenging assumptions to support the Property team.
- Translate complex financial and strategic information into clear, actionable insights for senior management and the Board.
- Work effectively with other departments like Finance, Strategy and Supermarkets to achieve business goals.
What you’ll bring
- At least 5 years in commercial finance, corporate strategy or a related field.
- Experience in property, retail or a large corporate environment is a plus.
- Proven ability in strategic problem‑solving, project management and change management.
- Superb written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
- Experience developing complex financial models and preparing investment business cases is essential, with robust modelling skills being desired.
- A CA/CPA or an equivalent qualification is highly regarded.
