Job Overview
We're looking for a Legal Counsel (12‐month contract) to join our Legal, Risk and Governance team at Anglicare Sydney. The role involves providing trusted advice, partnering with stakeholders, and supporting sound decision‐making across a purpose‐led organisation.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‐quality, timely and solutions‐focused legal advice across the organisation.
* Deliver specialist advice across commercial, corporate, property, building and construction, regulatory compliance, aged care and retirement living matters.
* Partner closely with Property, Corporate, Finance, Retirement Living, Aged Care and Housing teams.
* Draft and advise on contracts, agreements, policies and legal documentation.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to manage legal risks and deliver practical solutions.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external legal providers.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and provide proactive advice.
* Contribute to advocacy initiatives and organisational responses to legal developments.
Qualifications
* Current NSW practising certificate with tertiary qualifications in Law.
* 1 to 5 years post‐admission experience in private practice and/or in‐house legal environments.
* Exposure to corporate/commercial, property, construction or regulatory law.
* Strong drafting, analytical and problem‐solving skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
* High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a complex environment.
