System Administrator Job Description
The role of a System Administrator is to oversee the continuous operation of multi-user computer systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements for critical Defence capabilities. This involves pre-flight checks and system monitoring to guarantee safety prior to handover to aircrew. Additionally, troubleshooting and fault resolution are essential tasks, as well as reporting project status as necessary.
* Maximize system availability and performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
* Develop and implement scripts using PowerShell to automate system administration tasks.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in system administration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent ICT industry experience.
* Experience supporting multiple computer systems.
* Familiarity with VMWare and Cisco Networks.
* Technical understanding of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
* Knowledge of Redhat Enterprise Linux Administration.
