Northfleet Pty Ltd is one of Western Australia’s leading companies in the crane, transport, bus, and vehicle hire industry. With multiple depots throughout Perth metro, Southwest, Pilbara, and Regional WA, we provide comprehensive fleet solutions to our valued clients. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced local Transport Supervisor for our Newman operations.
About the Role As a Transport Supervisor, you will work closely with the Operations Manager and Transport Manager to ensure smooth scheduling and optimum utilisation of our fleet, including heavy rigid vehicles, multi‑combination vehicles, and specialised equipment. Your expertise in the transport industry, combined with your strong planning and organisational abilities, will be crucial in overseeing the daily operations of our northwest operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor fleet movements to ensure safe, cost‑efficient, and reliable freight distribution.
Manage heavy haulage and road transport requirements, including permit applications for oversized loads.
Plan and assess routes for efficiency and safety, while consolidating general freight operations.
Uphold a strong commitment to safety, ensuring driver compliance with fatigue management and load restraint regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with internal teams and clients.
Proactively engage with the team to promote company values and align with client needs.
Assist the Transport Manager and Operations Manager in managing the team of drivers.
Assign appropriate trailers based on load dimensions and weight.
About You
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a transport supervisor role.
Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing teams in the transport industry.
In‑depth knowledge of linehaul, including the Northwest region’s sites and towns.
Strong understanding of customer service principles, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Transport Management Systems.
Familiarity with the Pilbara region and its logistical challenges.
Hands‑on, can‑do attitude with a commitment to safety and compliance.
Solid understanding of the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and asset utilisation.
Able to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within 6 months).
