Location: Braddon, Canberra ACT

Employment type: Full-time or substantial part-time, negotiable for the right candidate

Australian Corporate Advisory helps scaling businesses solve unfamiliar problems and achieve lasting success.

We are a Canberra-based corporate advisory firm supporting business owners, boards and executives across strategy, finance, governance, commercial management, restructuring, funding and growth. Our Finance and CFO Advisory practice is continuing to expand, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant or Finance Manager to join our team.

This is a client-facing advisory role for someone who wants to move beyond traditional accounting and contribute directly to business performance, decision-making and commercial outcomes.

About the role

You will work with a portfolio of business and corporate sector clients, preparing and reviewing management accounts, financial analysis, forecasts, budgets, cash flow models, scenario analysis and business performance reports.

You will also contribute to formal written advice, board and management reporting, financial modelling, enterprise valuations and commercial recommendations. The role requires technical accounting capability and leadership, strong judgement, commercial curiosity and the confidence to communicate clearly with business owners and executives.

This position would suit a capable senior accountant, management accountant or finance manager who enjoys working across multiple businesses and wants to be part of a growing advisory firm with a practical, commercial and client-focused approach.

Key responsibilities

* Prepare and review monthly management accounts, performance reports and supporting analysis, including end‐of‐month processes across single entities and consolidated groups;
* Analyse financial results, trends, margins, working capital, cash flow and balance sheet movements;
* Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow models and scenario analysis;
* Support clients with financial planning, cost management and business performance improvement;
* Prepare formal written advice, reporting packs, commentary and recommendations;
* Assist with financial modelling, enterprise valuations and transaction‐related analysis;
* Identify risks, opportunities and improvement areas across client businesses;
* Work closely with clients, directors and internal team members to support informed decision‐making;
* Contribute to the development of scalable systems, templates, processes and reporting standards within the practice.

About you

We want to hear from commercially minded, technically capable applicants who are comfortable working in a professional advisory environment. You will enjoy solving problems, improving business performance and helping clients understand the story behind their numbers.

Qualifications and experience

* 6 – 10+ PQE in accounting, management accounting, finance or advisory;
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or equivalent experience;
* CPA, CA or equivalent professional designation, or a commitment to continued professional development through a recognised professional body;
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends and provide practical advice;
* Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts, cash flow reporting and financial analysis;
* Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reporting commentary and client advice;
* Confidence engaging with business owners, executives and internal stakeholders;
* Advanced capability with accounting software, reporting tools, forecasting systems and related technologies;
* A track record of helping clients or internal stakeholders make better commercial decisions.

BAS Agents, Xero and NetSuite management reporting platforms, financial modelling and business advisory work will be highly regarded.

Why join Auscorporate?

This is an opportunity to join a growing advisory firm where your work will directly impact client outcomes.

You will be part of a capable and ambitious team that values independence, integrity, ingenuity, trust and professionalism. We offer the opportunity to work closely with business owners and executives, contribute to meaningful advisory work, and help shape the systems and capabilities of a growing finance and business advisory practice.

We are not looking for someone who wants to simply process accounts. We are looking for someone who wants to think, advise, improve and grow.

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and agree to a police record check.

This role is based in our Braddon, ACT office and includes work at our client sites in Canberra and is not suited to fully remote work arrangements.

We welcome applications from people of diverse backgrounds and all ages, and value an inclusive, respectful and flexible workplace.
