Part Time Term Time - Fixed Term Contract (13 July - 24 November 2026)
The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School (TSS) has been established for 125 years and is committed to providing excellence in leadership, learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra‐curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant Boarding Education, Cultural and Sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses. We have 1700 students including 300 boarders.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team covering a Semester 2 contract. This is a part‐time role (2 days per week), working school term weeks only on Mondays and Tuesdays, offering excellent work‐life balance.
The successful candidate will have the ability to support students from Year 7 to Year 12, working collaboratively with staff, students and families to promote positive mental health, wellbeing and learning outcomes. Reporting to the Head of Psychological Services, the School Psychologist will provide professional psychological services across the senior school, supporting the social, emotional and behavioural development of students at all stages of schooling.
Qualifications
* Current and full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
* Demonstrated competence in individual, family, group and crisis counselling, preferably within an educational context
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical practice
* Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records
* Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team with high levels of accountability
* Ability to conduct psychological assessments and provide reports
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and other community stakeholders
* Postgraduate or further qualifications in psychology or a related field
* Eligibility for membership with the Australian Psychological Society
* Practice endorsement or experience in Health Psychology, Sports Psychology or Positive Psychology would be highly desirable

Successful candidates will be willing to support the Anglican Code of Conduct and Ethos of the School and follow our Counselling Services in Anglican Schools Policy and Procedures. Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a working with children paid Blue Card and will be asked to provide a recent criminal history check certificate.
