PWS is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join the Primary School Faculty to take Class 1 students for the Steiner Class Teacher journey from 2027 onwards. Ideally, in a Waldorf/Steiner school a Primary teacher works with the class until the end of Class 6.
The successful applicant will have a passion for education and an understanding of Steiner pedagogy, its underlying philosophy and the typical developmental phases through which children develop. As a Class 1 Teacher at PWS, you will embark on a rewarding journey guiding children through their formative years with warmth, creativity, and purpose. You will create a nurturing classroom environment and implement a rich curriculum that integrates academics, arts, and practical skills.
A desire to learn more and grow as a teacher is essential and the school will support you in developing your knowledge and skills in Steiner Education. Creativity, artistic ability and musical skills, or the willingness to develop these, are highly desired.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work at a well-resourced and extremely supportive Steiner school. Our teachers experience good conditions and are well remunerated. The opportunity to deepen your understanding of the school philosophy and approach is funded by the school.
Most importantly you will be teaching a lovely group of children with solid support from colleagues and from their parents.
Applicants must be teachers who are registered (or eligible for registration) with the Teachers Registration Board of WA and hold a Working with Children Check. They must haveAustralian Citizenship, Residency or possess a valid visa with work entitlements in Australia, there is no opportunity for sponsorship.
At Perth Waldorf School and Parkerville Steiner College we are committed to promoting the safety, health and wellbeing of children and young people and expect all school staff, parents, students, volunteers and visitors to the school to share that commitment.
