The East Kimberley

The Opportunity
Our Operations Department is seeking a reliable, experienced, and safety‐focused individual for the position of Jetpatcher Operator. The role involves carrying out scheduled and reactive pothole repair activities using specialised jetpatching equipment to maintain roads and pathways in a safe and serviceable condition throughout the Shire of Wyndham–East Kimberley sealed network. Works include Kununurra and Wyndham townsites, and sealed rural road networks and sealed footpaths.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate jetpatcher to carry out scheduled, and reactive (under instruction) pothole repair activities across the Shire.
* Maintain roads in a safe and serviceable condition in line with the scheduled pothole repair program.
* Conduct daily pre‐start checks and routine cleaning and maintenance of jetpatching equipment and associated plant.
* Identify and report equipment defects, damage, or maintenance issues promptly.
* Follow works schedules, job instructions, and traffic management requirements.
* Record completed works either hard copy or on digital medium, and report operational issues in accordance with Shire procedures.
* Interact professionally with the public and other stakeholders while undertaking works.
* Operate other plant and perform labouring duties as required and as directed.
* Carry out all duties in accordance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and Shire policies and procedures.
* Comply with the Shire's Code of Conduct and demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
* Ensure records, work logs, and reports are completed accurately and inline with Shire requirements.
* Follow operational directives and instructions issued by operational supervisors and managers.
Relevant qualifications in grounds maintenance, machinery operation and horticulture or landscaping or associated fields, current Blue/White Construction Safety Card, current unrestricted WA Manual "MR" or "HR" Class Driver's Licence and current First Aid qualification are essential for this role.
You will also need good customer service skill, ability to work out doors in East Kimberley conditions, ability to safely operate relevant equipment and strong communication skill.
