Your new role:
As an Archivist, you will support the development, documentation, and management of a diverse archival collection. Working closely with the Curator, you'll ensure the accessibility, preservation, and interpretation of historical materials, while also contributing to exhibitions and community engagement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Cataloguing, digitising, and documenting archival materials
* Supporting the development of archival policies and procedures
* Facilitating access to the collection for researchers and the public
* Assisting with acquisitions, research, and significance assessments
* Contributing to the preparation and installation of exhibitions
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including volunteers and community groups
What you'll need to succeed:
* Experience in archive management, object conservation, and museum practices
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Excellent research, analytical and conceptual thinking abilities
* Knowledge of records management principles and relevant legislation
* A collaborative and ethical approach to professional standards
* Tertiary qualifications (or progress towards) in Museum Studies, Archival Studies, History, Archaeology, or a related field
