About the Program: LMA has entered into an arrangement with BAE, Saab and CoA (MIWS) for the execution of all Combat System Integration work related to the Aegis Surface Combatant fleet.
The agreement, called the Combat Systems Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) Collaboration Agreement or CCA forms a collaborative enterprise organisation to execute scopes of work across Hobart Class Destroyer (SEA**** Phase 6 and other related Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) upgrades) and the Hunter Class Frigates (HCFs - SEA**** Phase 1).
The CSI-IPT evolves the current independently executing programs such as SEA**** Phase 6 and SEA**** Phase 1 under an umbrella enterprise organisation formed as a program of programs.
Your responsibilities will include: As part of the DDG Modernisation Program, Lockheed Martin Australia is integrating Aegis Baseline 9, the Australian Interface, and the Tomahawk Weapon System, along with several other advanced capabilities, onto the Hobart Class Destroyers.
To support this major modernisation effort, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Integration Verification Validation (IV V) Engineer to join the Combat System Integration Integrated Product Team (CSI-IPT).
In this role, you'll play a key part in planning and executing the integration, verification, and acceptance testing for these next-generation systems, ensuring each capability meets its design intent and is ready for operational use.
Working within a collaborative and high-performing engineering team, you will: Develop and deliver key engineering deliverables such as the V V Plan, System Integration Plan, Acceptance Test Plans and Procedures, and Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRM).
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of integration and acceptance testing across installation, set-to-work, harbour, and sea trial phases.
Provide expert advice on IV V governance, test sequencing, and integration execution across all phases of the program.
Represent the CSI-IPT at key forums including the Test Evaluation Working Group, Interface Design Working Group, and V V Working Group, ensuring alignment with stakeholders across Defence and industry.
Liaise with Platform Integration (PI), Platform Ship Designer (PSD), and other enterprise partners to coordinate test schedules and integration dependencies.
Contribute to program reviews including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Verification Review Boards (VRB), and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring all verification activities meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
About you: You're an experienced Systems or Verification Validation Engineer with a strong background in naval or complex Defence systems and a passion for delivering high-quality, assured outcomes.
You'll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience in Defence or complex logistics projects.
Significant experience planning and conducting complex maritime IV V programs involving combat system integration, testing, and acceptance.
Strong knowledge of systems engineering methods and lifecycle processes, and the ability to apply these within a highly integrated program environment.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including Defence, the US Navy, OEMs, and the Shipbuilder.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
A proactive, self-motivated approach and commitment to delivering technical excellence within a collaborative team.
An active NV-1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information.
