Busselton Beach Café is a vibrant 80-seat coastal café located in one of Western Australia's premier seaside destinations, located within the Busselton Beach Resort facility. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer experiences, quality food and coffee, and warm hospitality in a relaxed beachfront setting. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Café Manager to lead our team and drive operational excellence.
Qualifications / Experience
Previous experience in a Café Manager, Assistant Manager, or Supervisory hospitality role.
Barista experience with the ability to prepare a wide range of coffee beverages.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong customer service and communication abilities.
Experience with rostering and cash handling.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast‐paced environment.
Strong problem‐solving and organisational skills.
Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Certificate IV in hospitality or above.
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
First Aid Certificate.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and support café team members to deliver exceptional customer service.
Recruit, train, coach, and develop staff.
Prepare and manage staff rosters to meet operational requirements.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer‐focused workplace culture.
Oversee the day‐to‐day operation of the café.
Ensure smooth service during breakfast, lunch, and peak trading periods.
Monitor service standards, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the venue.
Manage opening and closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer experiences and handle customer feedback professionally.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.
Build positive relationships with regular customers and visitors.
Barista & Front‐of‐House Duties
Prepare and serve high‐quality coffee and beverages to café standards.
Step into the barista role when required, including during peak service periods.
Assist with front‐of‐house operations including taking orders, serving customers, and operating the POS system.
Support the team in all areas of the café as required.
Monitor daily sales performance and labour costs.
Minimise wastage and maintain cost control measures.
Handle cash reconciliation and banking procedures.
Prepare operational reports as required.
Food & Beverage Quality
Ensure consistent quality of food and beverages.
Work closely with kitchen staff to maintain efficient service flow.
Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate supplies are available at all times.
