The Department:
Federal government department, located on the southside of Canberra.
The Role:
We are looking for EL1 candidates with a strong track record in government costing. This specialised program area has a finance team that operates independently of the CFO unit, managing a multi-billion-dollar budget. The core duties of the role include:
* NPP costing and support
* Maintaining and updating financial models
* Reviewing and updating key cost drivers
* Engaging broadly with internal and external stakeholders
* Preparing documentation for funding reallocations and similar briefs.
The role has multiple stakeholders which will see you quickly develop an internal brand within the business area. You'll have the opportunity to set the standard with these stakeholders, helping them manage their finances effectively and add value to their program.
The role is available via a labour hire contract. They are looking for someone who can engage at a senior level with clients, and have the technical ability to confidently cost, model and consider new drivers related to New Policy Proposals (NPPs). The area is fast moving and has developed a supportive culture and environment.
This contract will run for an initial 12 months with the potential to extend for a further 12 months.
They are open to someone working in a fully remote capacity.
Your Skills and Experience:
You are an experienced professional with federal government costing experience at the EL1 level or equivalent. Stakeholder engagement is one of your strengths and something that you thrive on. You're comfortable with APS costing frameworks and the Cabinet submission process.
You must be an Australian Citizen with a Baseline clearance to be able to start in this role.
