Job Description
Oporto Joondalup is a locally operated franchise store of the well-known Oporto brand, serving customers with fresh, flavour-focused chicken meals, burgers, wraps, sides and quick-service dining options. As part of a recognised Australian food franchise, our store focuses on delivering consistent food quality, friendly customer service, efficient store operations and a positive team culture. We are now seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Manager to lead our Joondalup store and support its continued growth, customer satisfaction and day-to-day operational success.
Role: Retail Manager – Oporto Joondalup | Joondalup, WA
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the daily operations of the Oporto Joondalup store, ensuring the business runs efficiently during peak and non-peak service periods.
* Lead, train, roster and supervise front-of-house and kitchen team members to ensure staff understand store procedures, food handling requirements and customer service expectations.
* Monitor customer service standards and ensure customers receive prompt, friendly and professional service in line with Oporto brand expectations.
* Oversee stock ordering, stock rotation, product availability and inventory levels to ensure the store has sufficient ingredients, packaging, beverages and operating supplies.
* Review sales trends, customer demand and product performance to assist in determining appropriate product mix, promotional focus and stock levels for the store.
* Maintain accurate records relating to stock usage, wastage, purchases, sales, daily takings, supplier invoices and other financial transactions.
* Assist with store budgeting, cost control and financial planning, including monitoring labour costs, food costs, wastage and other operating expenses.
* Implement pricing, purchasing and promotional strategies in accordance with franchise guidelines and local store requirements.
* Support local marketing and promotional activities to increase customer awareness, improve sales and promote Oporto Joondalup's products and services.
* Ensure food products are presented and served consistently, with attention to quality, portion control, freshness and brand standards.
* Provide product information to customers, assist with menu enquiries and help resolve customer concerns in a professional manner.
* Recruit suitable team members where required and support staff development through ongoing training, coaching and performance feedback.
* Ensure all employees follow workplace health and safety procedures, food safety standards, hygiene requirements and safe work practices.
* Maintain a clean, safe and well-presented store environment, including dining areas, service counters, kitchen areas, storage spaces and equipment.
* Coordinate opening and closing procedures, cash handling, end-of-day reporting and store security requirements.
* Liaise with suppliers, franchise support teams and service providers to ensure smooth store operations and timely resolution of operational issues.
* Monitor staff performance, attendance and productivity, and take appropriate action to maintain a reliable and efficient team.
* Identify opportunities to improve store efficiency, customer experience, team performance and overall profitability.
Skills and Experience Required
* At least 1 year of relevant experience in retail management, quick-service restaurant management, hospitality management or a similar supervisory role.
* Must hold at least an AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant field.

Hours
38 hours per week | Full-time Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation per annum
