About the role

This is a senior commercial role for someone who can do two things well: open new doors and grow what is already there. As Growth Manager, you will be responsible for driving Valiant's presence across the Sydney events and experiential marketing landscape, converting new opportunities with agencies, brands, corporate clients and venues, while also working closely with the account management team to unlock growth within existing relationships.

Sydney is Valiant's largest and most strategic market. You will also play a key role in managing and growing major sporting event relationships, which are a significant part of Valiant's National portfolio.

Reporting to the National Head of Growth, you will bring an established Sydney network, strong leadership presence and the commercial drive to build a significant pipeline. We are looking for a hunter who also thinks strategically and leads from the front.

Responsibilities

* Identify and convert new business opportunities across event agencies, experiential marketing agencies, brands, corporate clients and venues in the Sydney market.
* Build and nurture senior‐level relationships with decision makers across events, experiential, brand activations, corporate and major sporting events.
* Take ownership of major sporting event relationships in Sydney, ensuring Valiant is the preferred partner for key events and delivering against these accounts at the highest level.
* Drive growth within existing accounts by working closely and collaboratively with the Sydney account management team to identify opportunities and develop strategies to increase revenue and deepen relationships.
* Develop and execute a Sydney‐specific growth strategy aligned to Valiant's national priorities.
* Manage your pipeline from lead generation through to close, maintaining a disciplined and efficient sales process.
* Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and inform strategy.
* Collaborate with the Creative and Marketing teams to develop compelling proposals, pitches and campaigns.
* Represent Valiant at industry events and actively build the brand's profile in the Sydney market.
* Provide regular insights and recommendations to the National Head of Growth and National Head of Events on market opportunities and sales performance.

About You

* Established Sydney network across events, experiential marketing, brand activations, major sporting events and corporate; you know the market and the market knows you.
* Experience working within or alongside event agencies or experiential marketing agencies is highly regarded.
* Proven hunter with a track record of opening new relationships and converting them into revenue.
* Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, motivate and energise the Sydney Events team; as a Senior Leader on the ground you will set the tone and drive the team's performance and culture.
* Strategic thinker who can see the big picture and still execute with discipline.
* Outstanding communication, negotiation and relationship‐building skills with the ability to engage at a senior level.
* Well‐presented, commercially minded and genuinely passionate about design, events and creative experiences.
* Possess a car and driver's licence as you will be on the road regularly.
