About The Role
The primary purpose of a Career Medical Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology is to provide safe and high quality care, assess and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) and admitted to Women's Care, under supervision. The Career Medical Officer is responsible for the effective clinical management of Obstetrics and Gynaecology patients in a complex environment, developing expertise while remaining aware of limits and collaborating collegially. Decision‐making and supervision will align with skills, knowledge and experience; the Medical Officer is expected to adopt a progressively independent approach to patient management under the guidance and discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients are directly under the care of a specialist medical practitioner and all care decisions are clearly communicated with the responsible specialist.
