Job Goal
The head sponsor of each activity has the responsibility of adhering to the policies and regulations of the School board and administration. The sponsor has a shared responsibility for striving to build good student citizenship, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior and positive self-esteem. It is expected that good public relations be developed and maintained within the school among students and staff. Additionally, the sponsor should keep in mind the importance of being a representative of the School District when activities, performances or products are presented to the public.
Performance Responsibilities
* Has full responsibility for overall supervision of the program.
* Is in charge of assigning all duties of assistants working under the sponsor's supervision.
* Plans and schedules all practice sessions.
* Is responsible for the general upkeep and protection of equipment under the jurisdiction of the activity.
* Is responsible for inventory of all equipment at the end of the year.
* Is responsible for keeping records and forms as requested by the building administrator.
* Makes financial reports as required by the District.
* Is responsible for clearing departure times for trips that involve loss of school time with the building administrator and giving building faculty adequate and appropriate notice.
* Performs other duties as designated by the building administrator.
Terms of Employment
The Head Activity Sponsor will be a seasonal employee. The salary and work year will be established annually by the Board of Education.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor, using the Head Activity Sponsor Performance Based Evaluation.
