Trans Eurokars Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Controller to join our busy and dynamic team in Port Hedland, WA. In this full‐time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of our vehicle repair workshop, ensuring exceptional customer service and maximizing productivity.
What you'll be doing
* Make sure all servicing work is carried out correctly, competently and on time, with customer satisfaction in mind.
* Ensure that all work complies with government regulations, health and safety and manufacturer policy, as well as company standards.
* Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the workshop, including job scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
* Manage and coach a team of vehicle technicians and apprentices, ensuring targets and business objectives are met.
* Work with colleagues and other departments to ensure a seamless service for customers.
* Liaise with customers to understand their needs, provide accurate estimates, and keep them informed of progress.
* Oversee the work of technicians and ensure all repairs are completed to the highest standards and in a timely manner.
* Monitor and analyse workshop performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
* Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, including job costing, inventory management, and warranty claims.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing leadership, mentoring, and support to the workshop team.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in a similar Workshop Controller or Workshop Manager role, preferably within the automotive industry.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, technicians, and other stakeholders.
* Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Proficient in using workshop management systems and automotive diagnostic software.
* Thorough understanding of automotive repair and maintenance processes, as well as industry regulations and best practices.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
* Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a high level of workshop efficiency.
