Health, Safety and Wellbeing are seeking an experienced Senior Wellbeing Consultant to promote, develop, manage and evaluate evidence‐informed staff mental health and wellbeing programs and initiatives as part of a wellbeing team.
This is a temporary opportunity until 12 October 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Your Role
* Our Senior Wellbeing Consultant is based in our Brisbane corporate office, working within our corporate Staff Wellbeing team, delivering advice and services to corporate teams and supporting regional wellbeing colleagues.
* Key duties of this role include supporting continuous improvement of the department's staff wellbeing framework and staff wellbeing resources; the coordination of the employee assistance program; key statewide programs and projects; and continuation of the implementation of the Department's statewide trauma management model.
* The role will support mental health, psychological safety, staff health and wellbeing initiatives, therefore relevant qualifications and/or previous experience in psychological health or health and wellbeing will be well regarded.
Responsibilities Include
* Provide support and advice to the Director and Manager and other managers of the department on all issues pertaining to staff mental health and wellbeing.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of a range of strategies, initiatives and projects to improve the health and wellbeing of staff; and to the review of the effectiveness of health and wellbeing initiatives.
* Deliver engaging wellbeing presentations and workshops at conferences and forums to assist in developing staff capability.
* Establish internal and external networks and liaise with officers from other agencies and organisations to promote and monitor contemporary health and wellbeing initiatives.
* Prepare briefing material and reports for the Manager, Wellbeing and other senior departmental officers on substantial human resource management issues that relate to the health and wellbeing of staff; and represent the department in a variety of forums on issues relating to departmental mental health and wellbeing activities and initiatives.
About You
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Experience working with corporate and schools‐based clients in promoting health and wellbeing, particularly mental health and wellbeing.
* Experience in development and delivering engaging wellbeing presentations and workshops to assist with development of staff capability.
* Networking skills within and outside the organisation to promote and monitor contemporary health and wellbeing initiatives.
* Experience preparing briefing materials and reports for the Manager Staff Wellbeing and other senior departmental officers on issues that relate to staff health and wellbeing.
* While mandatory qualifications are not required for this role, relevant qualifications and previous experience in psychological health or health and wellbeing will be highly regarded.
