Job Summary
The Service Project Manager is a critical role within Voith Hydro’s hydropower business. Voith Hydro is establishing new service hubs as well as developing existing ones at strategic locations worldwide, with Australia as a newly created Service hub. This role provides overall project leadership on assigned projects in Australia and Current Zealand through the complete project life cycle (from proposal phase to execution), supplying parts and services for hydroelectric power plants equipment (turbine, generator, balance of plant electrical & mechanical, and automation/digital).
Main Responsibilities
- Manage assigned projects across scheduling, budget, quality, EHS, risk management, reporting, communication, and ensure work complies with contract requirements.
- Support the Service Manager(s) and HyService Sales Manager to prepare Opex and Capex proposals (cost, schedule, scope, quality) for services & parts in line with contract requirements and customer specifications.
- Manage all project team members, site resources, contractors, and suppliers.
- Oversee Sales Order creation and budget upload into the WBS when proposals become OTC orders.
- Execute SAP transactions applicable to projects for services & parts.
- Maintain good working relations with customers, internal suppliers, and vendors to facilitate component supply and provide technical assistance to support customer schedules.
- Lead overall projects for services & parts, manage on-site execution, and develop contingency plans and change orders to deliver value and profitability.
- Make logical decisions under pressure to resolve customers’ problems and take accountability for proposal and project success (commercial, technical, pricing, and customer satisfaction).
- Create and manage NCRs and conduct RCAs as needed.
- Liaise with the Voith internal network to successfully execute projects.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support Service Managers and Business Development activities in the region.
- During business development, assist the ANZ team to identify and onboard workshops, service providers, and suppliers in Australia and New Zealand (with Sourcing support).
- Identify tooling and equipment requirements for the ANZ HyService hub; lead procurement and setup of tool containers/site boxes.
- Build relationships with customers; support local team members and be willing to work outside specific areas of responsibility.
- Support the development of local procedures, processes, and systems.
Qualifications and Personal Profile
- Project Management qualification; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent industry experience.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the hydro power sector or a supporting industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in project management software and tools, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Leadership and decision-making capabilities; high attention to detail; strong report writing and technical capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within deadlines, with minimal supervision.
The role requires willingness to travel throughout Australia and New Zealand to visit customer/project sites and work in industrial environments.
