Investment Banking Associate – Infrastructure
Jefferies is seeking a high-performing Associate to join its Infrastructure Investment Banking / Advisory team in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to play a key supporting role in the growth of a relationships‐driven infrastructure advisory franchise across the ANZ market.
The Associate will focus primarily on transaction execution and analytical support, while gaining exposure to client interaction and origination activities. Working closely with senior bankers, the successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality strategic advisory and M&A solutions to infrastructure investors and corporates.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Execution
* Support the execution of infrastructure M&A and strategic advisory transactions.
* Build and maintain financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions).
* Assist in due diligence coordination, data room management, and transaction documentation.
* Prepare high-quality client presentations, pitchbooks, and marketing materials.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors (legal, accounting, technical).
Research & Analysis
* Conduct detailed industry and company research across infrastructure sectors.
* Analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and investor activity in ANZ.
* Support development of client‐ready insights and strategic recommendations.
Client & Origination Support
* Assist senior bankers in identifying and evaluating potential opportunities.
* Contribute to pitch preparation and idea generation for new and existing clients.
* Support ongoing client engagement efforts, including meeting preparation and follow‐ups.
Team Support & Quality Control
* Work closely with Analysts, VPs, and senior leadership to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables.
* Review and refine junior analysts' work where appropriate.
* Maintain strong attention to detail and adhere to tight transaction timelines.
Requirements
* 3–6 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure advisory, or a related field.
* Strong experience supporting M&A or strategic advisory transactions.
* Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques.
* Solid understanding of infrastructure sectors and key market dynamics in ANZ (highly preferred).
