The Opportunity
We are looking for a confident and people‐focused Senior Accountant who brings both strong technical expertise and the ability to build genuine relationships with clients and colleagues.
You will lead a close‐knit team of five within a broader tax and accounting division of 25, offering autonomy, variety, and exposure across different areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a portfolio of approximately 250 to 300 clients from start to finish
* Preparing financial statements across a range of entity types
* Preparing Business Activity Statements and Fringe Benefits Tax returns
* Preparing income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies
* Identifying opportunities to improve tax outcomes and contributing to broader client strategies
* Ensuring all work complies with current tax legislation and governance requirements
* Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance
* Supporting and mentoring junior and intermediate accountants
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication
* Working closely with managers and contributing to team outcomes
* Participating in internal training, knowledge sharing and team activities
About You
* 6+ years of experience within Public Practice Accounting
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
* CA or CPA qualification
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax, particularly for small businesses and individuals
* Experience managing a client portfolio independently, including financial statements, BAS, FBT, and tax returns across all entity types
* Experience with Div 7A loan agreements
* Experience reviewing and providing feedback on junior team members' work
* Familiarity with Xero Practice Manager and FYI Docs and strong MS Office skills
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
