The opportunity to join our team
At Insignia Financial, we are continuing to scale and modernise our Wrap platform, and this is a 12 month contract with the potential to extend. This role plays a key part in driving both technical delivery and engineering capability. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead solution design within your team, deliver complex features, and mentor engineers while influencing how solutions are designed and delivered across the platform.
Role
In this role you will lead technical delivery within your team while contributing to broader engineering outcomes. Key focuses of this role include:
* Lead solution design and technical direction within your delivery team
* Deliver high quality features and enhancements to the platform
* Mentor and coach engineers to support their development and performance
* Contribute to system design and architecture decisions
* Promote continuous improvement across engineering practices
* Work with stakeholders to understand and solve complex problems
* Apply automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
* Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to delivery planning
* Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, and release processes
* Support testing, documentation, and ongoing system maintenance

* Microfrontends built in JavaScript (ES6) using React and Redux.
* Kotlin, Java, Groovy
* Dropwizard based microservices built in Kotlin, Java and Groovy
* Data stored in MongoDB and MySQL
* Other tools to help get the job done include Elasticsearch, Kafka and RabbitMQ
* Containerized deployments with Docker
What You Bring To This Role
* 5+ years development experience
* Strong experience working in agile delivery environments
* Advanced knowledge of engineering practices including TDD, pair programming, and systems thinking
* Strong experience with Java and modern development languages such as Kotlin and React
* Experience designing and building scalable, maintainable systems
* Exposure to NoSQL and Mongo databases
* Strong stakeholder engagement and problem solving capability
* Experience mentoring or leading engineers within a team
