CFA is an emergency service that places the community at the centre of everything we do. We work to protect lives and property across Victoria, every hour of the day. Our organisation is made up of employees working alongside more than 51,000 volunteers. We value the different skills, experience and viewpoints that people bring, because they strengthen how we operate and support the services Victorians rely on. We aim to be a workplace where people feel supported to do meaningful work, develop professionally and contribute to outcomes that matter to the people and places we serve.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly credible, empathetic and solutions‑focussed professional who can build trusted relationships, navigate complex interpersonal situations with diplomacy and fairness and empower volunteers and leaders to resolve issues constructively. The newly created Regional Resolution Support Partner will play a pivotal role in supporting CFA volunteers, leaders and brigades to create respectful, inclusive and high‑performing environments. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled practitioner in conflict resolution, human resources, coaching or people management to make a meaningful impact across our volunteer community. Through early intervention and prevention strategies, you will work closely with our regional leaders and support teams to empower CFA members to manage conflict and communication challenges themselves, promoting self‑determination and personal agency.
As the primary regional contact for informal volunteer‑related matters, you will help prevent and resolve interpersonal issues, strengthen leadership capability and foster healthy brigade culture that enables members to thrive. Working within CFA's governance framework, including complaint resolution policies and procedures, you will triage informal matters locally, coordinate local engagement, support leaders through resolution processes and assist in preparing matters for formal escalation where required.
With responsibility for the Northwest region of Victoria, work locations include Melton, Bendigo, Kerang or Swan Hill district offices. This position does involve travel, including after‑hours travel and weekend work at times. The successful candidate will have access to a CFA pool car for this purpose. A driver's license is a requirement of this role. Part‑time and job‑share opportunities are open for consideration.
