AmCham is seeking a high‐potential professional ready to step up into a General Manager role working closely with the CEO in a commercially focused, internationally active environment.
This role is ideal for someone currently in government, policy, or executive advisory roles who wants to take their career to the next level — applying strong judgment, writing, and problem‐solving skills in a broader leadership role with exposure to business, trade, and international engagement.
A key attraction is the opportunity to lead high‐level international delegations to the United States, working directly with C‐suite executives, senior government officials, and global organizations. Alongside this, you will progress a portfolio of high‐impact strategic projects, ensuring complex work is well‐framed, aligned to priorities, and delivered with consistency and sound judgment.
This is a rare opportunity to translate government‐honed skills into a more commercial and international context, while gaining leadership responsibility and direct access to senior decision‐makers.
What you'll do
International Delegations: Lead AmCham's C‐suite delegations to the United States; frame objectives and narrative; draft briefings and outcomes; coordinate embassy and government engagement.
Premium Members: Support CEO engagement through relationship intelligence, coordination, and proactive issue management.
Executive & National Communications: Oversee The CEO Message; draft CEO and Chair speeches, briefing papers, and stakeholder correspondence; support issues management and time‐sensitive priorities.
Alliance Awards (Gala): Lead AmCham's flagship awards program end‐to‐end, including award design, judging, stakeholder communications, and strategic oversight of delivery.
Reports & Publications: Manage original reports and publications; act as lead writer/editor; coordinate member contributions.
Team Leadership: Lead the Special Projects team (3 FTE) and manage priorities across a complex portfolio.
What we're looking for
Around 5+ years' experience in government, policy, public affairs, executive advisory, or similar roles.
Exceptional written communication skills (briefings, speeches, correspondence).
Strong problem‐solving and synthesis capability.
Sound judgment and discretion working closely with senior leaders.
Ability to coordinate stakeholders without authority.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and managing multiple priorities.
Highly regarded: ministerial or government experience, speechwriting, policy or advocacy work, international engagement, publications.
Step into a General Manager role with meaningful responsibility.
Work directly with senior business and government leaders.
Shape outcomes through clarity, judgment, and communication.
Deliver high‐profile national and international initiatives.
