We are excited to open a new location on Station Street, Fairfield and are now seeking a full-time Cook to join our growing team.

Salary: $77,000 per annum + superannuation
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes, including curries, breads, street foods, and tandoori items.
Plan and organize daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and timely food preparation.
Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning according to THAALI's quality standards.
Monitor food storage, stock rotation, and inventory to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Ensure compliance with Australian food safety and hygiene regulations (Safe Food Australia standards).
Train and assist kitchen hands or apprentices to maintain efficiency and teamwork.
Prepare special dishes for customers with dietary or allergy requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and preparation areas.
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
Follow cost-control procedures and assist in menu improvement ideas as directed by management.
Experience Requirement
Minimum 1 year's experience working as a Cook in a high-volume commercial kitchen, with proficiency in preparing Indian cuisine.
Qualifications
Minimum Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
Proficient in traditional Indian cooking methods (tandoor, tempering, slow-cooking), knife skills, spice blending, and plating.
Demonstrated understanding of Australian food-handling regulations and HACCP principles.
Ability to multitask under pressure, prioritize tasks during peak service, and meet strict timelines.
Meticulous approach to food presentation, portion control, and recipe consistency.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to give and receive feedback and foster a positive kitchen culture.
Must be available to work weekends and public holidays as required.
Must hold valid work authorisation in Australia (e.g., Australian citizen, PR, or valid visa).
