The Opportunity
As Operations Manager, you will support the Managing Director overseeing the full contract lifecycle of commercial plumbing projects. This includes managing tenders, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance, effectively managing the workforce and coordinating stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within budget.
This a key hands‐on position in the business requiring a broad, versatile range of skills. You will need to be highly adaptable, with a flexible approach to working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing tenders and contract administration.
* Preparing, reviewing and negotiating contracts and variations.
* Overseeing compliance, risk management and quality assurance.
* Coordinating project resources and stakeholder communication.
* Workforce planning, performance management and development.
* Tracking financials and preparing contract status reports.
About You
You're experienced in the construction industry, probably with a relevant trade background. You are able to balance commercial outcomes with client expectations whilst managing multiple priorities. You communicate clearly, think strategically and maintain strong relationships with the team and all stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Contracts Manager, Contracts Administrator, Estimator or similar role in the construction or plumbing industries.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and compliance requirements.
* Excellent negotiation, communication and problem‐solving skills.
* Flexibility, adaptability and high level of resilience.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and experience managing trades people at each stage of the employee life‐cycle.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
* Proficiency with project management or construction software.
Desirable
* Knowledge of plumbing trade practices, materials and processes.
