Consulting Arborist / Ecologist
We are currently seeking a AQF5 (or above) Consulting Arborist / Ecologist to join our Environmental Services team in Melbourne.
This role involves delivering arboricultural advice and assessments across infrastructure, transport, land development, and environmental planning projects, ensuring best‐practice outcomes in tree management, urban greening, and project compliance. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Undertaking a range of arboricultural assessments (Preliminary Assessments, Impact Assessments, Tree Protection Specifications, Hazardous Tree Assessments)
* Supporting project approvals and compliance with relevant standards and local regulations
* Assisting with project planning, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement
* Providing technical advice to internal teams and external clients
* Supporting biodiversity offsetting assessments and regulatory submissions
Requirements
* Arboriculture qualification at AQF Level 5 or higher (Diploma, Degree, etc.)
* Well‐developed tree identification and assessment skills
* At least 2 years of post‐graduate experience in a similar role, ideally within a consulting, construction, or regulatory environment
* Background in ecology considered an asset
* Excellent interpersonal, relationship, communication, and client liaison skills
* Current valid driver's licence
