Head of Nursing Workforce

Lead a national nursing workforce. Drive performance, not just people.
At Lumia Care, workforce performance directly impacts the quality, continuity and reliability of care across aged care, community and acute environments.
We're seeking a Head of Nursing Workforce to lead and optimise our national nursing agency operations, ensuring the right clinicians are deployed at the right time, at the right cost, with full compliance.
This is a senior operational leadership role, focused on workforce performance, deployment and commercial outcomes.
It is best suited to leaders with experience in high-volume, performance-driven workforce environments, rather than purely clinical leadership roles.
Key Accountabilities
Workforce Supply & Deployment

* Ensure reliable, responsive supply aligned to demand
* Maintain visibility of workforce availability and service gaps
* Drive national shift fulfilment and utilisation
Operational Performance
* Own key metrics including fill rates, utilisation and cancellations
* Identify and resolve regional performance gaps
* Maintain consistent service delivery standards
Commercial Performance
* Manage workforce economics (cost vs billable rates, margin per shift)
* Support pricing and contract performance
* Balance service delivery with cost discipline
Recruitment & Pipeline Alignment
* Oversee pipeline strength and activation rates
* Align recruitment, onboarding and operations to reduce time to deploy
* Ensure pipeline depth meets forecast demand
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure full workforce compliance prior to deployment
* Oversee credentialing, audit readiness and clinical risk
* Maintain strong quality and safety standards
Leadership
* Lead and develop workforce and operations leaders
* Build a culture of accountability and performance
* Standardise operating rhythms across regions

What You Bring Experience
* Senior leadership in healthcare workforce, agency or large-scale staffing models
* Proven experience managing high-volume, multi-site operations
* Strong understanding of nursing workforce dynamics
Capability
* Data-driven, able to translate metrics into action
* Strong commercial acumen
* Deep understanding of compliance and governance
* Able to operate strategically and execute effectively
Leadership
* Builds clarity, accountability and consistency
* Comfortable leading in complex, fast-paced environments
* Balances performance with care quality and safety
Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualification (healthcare, nursing, business or similar)
* Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
