Job Overview
As a Social Worker within the Psychological Health Services (PHS) team at Acacia Prison, you will provide psychological assessment and intervention to inmates for a broad range of presenting issues. You will focus on suicide and self‐harm risk assessment and crisis intervention and deliver goal‐directed psychological interventions appropriate for a forensic population. This is a full‐time, permanent position based in Wooroloo, WA.
Responsibilities
* Conduct psychological assessments and risk evaluations of inmates.
* Provide individual counselling and crisis intervention.
* Deliver goal‐directed interventions suitable for a forensic population.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement psychological services and programs.
* Produce accurate and defensible documentation and reports.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in social work with eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Solid understanding of evidence‐based practices in psychological and behavioural assessment and intervention.
* Demonstrated experience in individual counselling, preferably within a correctional, welfare or similar institutional environment.
* Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver services.
* Exceptional report‐writing skills, producing accurate and defensible documentation.
