About First Marine International (FMI): First Marine International (FMI) is the shipyard technology and maritime market research group within Haskoning; and the international leader in shipyard design, shipyard performance improvement and marine market research.
We are a relatively small but growing team with offices in the UK (Falmouth, Newcastle upon Tyne, Glasgow), Australia, USA, Canada, Germany and India.
What will you do The overall purpose of the senior role is to deliver high-quality consultancy services to FMI clients.
It is also to enhance the FMI team by providing additional technical expertise to an already very experienced team.
The main focus areas will be shipyard design and performance improvement but there will be involvement with most areas that FMI is active in including marine market research.
You will already have substantial shipyard and industrial experience that you will be able to readily adapt to the maritime consultancy environment.
Working initially under the close direction and supervision of Principal Consultants and Director, you will deepen your expert knowledge and consultancy skills relating to the shipyard technology and operations, shipyard design and market research aspects of the First Marine Advisory Group.
In time you will progress to managing and undertaking projects, either alone or as part of an FMI team.
You will represent the company in front of clients (initially with supervision) and will work towards being able to present a credible solution to clients\' problems and questions with due regard to accuracy, objectivity, risk and liability.
