The Role
The RN is responsible for providing the day to day mental health and physical health care requirements of patients. This must be in line with the principles of recovery and forensic mental health rehabilitation. The RN must integrate therapeutic goals with security requirements through constant appraisal of organisational processes and nurse-patient relationships to ensure that opportunities for therapeutic endeavour are maximised. All staff have a responsibility to maintain the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors within the high secure environment.
Our location, team, and service
The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional and high-risk civil patients.
A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing and allied health professionals are dedicated to providing a care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.

A mandatory and comprehensive two-week, full-time orientation is provided for all new staff at Forensic Hospital. All days are paid. The next intake date will be on 2nd February ****.
