About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Pre‐Contracts Manager to lead our pre‐contracts and estimating function across major renewable energy, infrastructure and resource projects. This is a strategic leadership role suited to a commercially astute Pre‐Contracts Manager or Senior Estimator who thrives in a fast‐paced, hands‐on environment and enjoys balancing technical, commercial and client‐facing responsibilities.
You'll play a key role in shaping the projects Monford pursues, securing the right work at the right margins, while leading a high‐performing team through the full tender lifecycle from early engagement through to contract execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the end‐to‐end tender and bid process across multiple concurrent projects.
* Drive pre‐contracts strategy in alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
* Lead, mentor and develop the estimating/pre‐contracts team, including succession planning and capability development.
* Review contracts, commercial clarifications and deviations to ensure favourable risk outcomes.
* Conduct commercial reviews across submissions, identifying risks, opportunities and delivery considerations.
* Maintain estimating systems, libraries and market intelligence to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
* Build strong client and industry relationships that contribute to future project pipeline growth.
* Support Monford's expansion into emerging sectors including Defence.
About You
* Proven experience as a Pre‐Contracts Manager, Senior Estimator or similar leadership role within construction, EPC, infrastructure, renewables and/or resources.
* Demonstrated ability managing multiple complex tenders concurrently in a high‐performance environment.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience reviewing contracts, risk and commercial strategy.
* Previous experience leading and mentoring teams.
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship‐building capability.
* Exposure to engineering, electrical design and/or construction delivery environments highly regarded.
* Proficiency using estimating platforms such as Expert Estimation, CostX, ProEst or similar.
* Experience within renewable energy, solar, BESS and/or EPC environments highly regarded.
