Opportunity
With our Strategic Planning Team focusing on high-priority projects, this is an opportunity for a Graduate Strategic Planner to support assessment of planning proposals.
Role Highlights
With support from the Planning Proposals Team Leader, you will provide practical plain language advice to Council and the community on land use planning and sustainable development. This includes advice on social, economic, environmental considerations, strategic plans and policies, local environmental plans, development control plans, development contributions plans, planning proposals, heritage matters, demographic and other data.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain on-the-job experience in a local government setting to support their recent studies.
* This is a contract opportunity for a period of up to 6 months – working full‐time 35 hours per week
* Hourly Rate Range: $40.24 to $47.30 per hour + 12% superannuation + retention allowance
* You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

Qualifications
* Recently completed or near completion of a degree in planning or a related field
* Well‐developed communication skills, including sound word‐processing abilities, allowing the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
* Driver's licence – Class C
