Due to an increased demand within our business, SYPAQ are seekinga Project Transition Officer with Defence experience for a long-term opportunity with a Defence client. The role offers a start in the new financial year and is a contract of 24 months. The role is based in Canberra and will be an office-based role.
Overview:
The role will be a part of Capability Realisation team which leads planning and coordination, fundamental inputs to capability including facilities, threat assessment, and is the lead functional area taking them through Defence reviews processes and subsequent Government committees.
The Project Transition Officer is responsible for the organisational change management to transition the platform and support system from acquisition phase to in-service and sustainment. This position is responsible for coordinating the retirement of legacy capability pursuant to introduction of new capability.
Roles, Responsibilities, Deliverables and Milestones:
* Coordinate transition and organisation change management for introduction into service of Client's sponsored capabilities.
* Coordinate the withdrawal from service of current capabilities.
* Coordinate the award of Authority to Operate for Clients sponsored capabilities.
* Identification, communication and mitigation strategies for all capability transition risks.
* Contribute to management of sustainment activities across Warfighter functional commands to optimise organisational change management.
* Develop of written presentations, proposals and briefs including short notice requests to provide executive briefing material.
* Represent leadership across Service and Group Headquarters (HQs), interfacing projects, and specialist areas within Defence, as directed.
Essential skills, qualifications and experience
* Tertiary Qualifications in relevant field.
* Previous experience in Defence ICT project experience.
* Previous experience in Defence network project experience.
* Previous Defence training system experience.
* Previous Defence facilities project experience
* Previous Integrated Logistics Systems (ILS) experience.
* Experience with One Defence Capability System
