Client Book Club Facilitator

Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connections, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services in over 420 service locations across Victoria and NSW.
About Your Role
Reporting to the Research Coordinator, the Client Book Club Facilitator is responsible for developing and facilitating a book club for people with intellectual disability. This unique role is part of a research project aimed at improving the social networks of people with disability.
Your Key Focus
* Coordinate the promotion and recruitment process for the newly established book club
* Facilitate the book club and support clients in participation
* Manage the operational aspects of the book club, including coordination, scheduling, communication and required resources
* Regularly liaise with and report to the Head of Research to understand and deliver the activities as required
* Communicate proactively with clients, staff and community members
What We Look For
* Previous experience working with people with disability
* Experience with group program facilitation
* Skilled in creating environments and opportunities that support the development of peer relationships and friendships
* Well developed organisation, planning and time management skills
* Experience using virtual collaboration platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Legal Requirements
Please note, successful applicants will be required to hold an NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and a Working with Children Check. If you have lived or worked for a continuous period of 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years, a certified International Police Check from that country or countries will also be required. The offer will be conditional on meeting these requirements.
