Teacher - Health and Physical Education Australian Football League Specialist

This is a permanent full‐time position commencing Term 3, 2026.
At Darling Range Sports College we provide a range of meaningful learning opportunities across all curriculum areas with a strong focus on high‐school sports. The College is the state's only Sports College offering specialist programs in Australian Football League (AFL), athletics, baseball, basketball, netball, soccer, swimming and rugby. The college experiences rapid growth and is a chosen destination for students from across the state.
The Role
Darling Range SC is seeking an outstanding HPE teacher to coordinate and deliver the elite AFL specialist program for Years 7‐12. The successful applicant will inspire students to engage with a dynamic curriculum, provide highest‐quality coaching, and promote the program to the local community.
Responsibilities
* Deliver curriculum, coaching and training programs in the HPE learning area.
* Co‐ordinate the elite AFL specialist program, leading to AFL draft success.
* Promote the AFL program in the local community and provide pastoral care for students.
* Incorporate Explicit Instruction (EI) across all learning areas and implement Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Instructional Strategies (IS) professional workshops when appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience
* Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
* Coaching experience at elite youth level and/or within state or national leagues.
* Current accreditation at Silver or Gold level (or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
* Evidence of willingness to employ EI, CMS and IS in teaching practice.
