We are a well-established Melbourne-based property development and SDA housing group seeking an experienced and commercially minded Group Finance Manager to take ownership of the group's finance function.
This is a senior hands-on role suited to a mature finance professional who is confident working directly with business owners and senior operational management in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
The group operates across multiple companies, trusts and self-managed super fund structures with significant property development, construction and SDA operations. We are seeking someone who can bring structure, accountability, financial discipline and operational oversight across the group.
This role is best suited to a practical operator who enjoys taking ownership, driving outcomes and improving systems and processes.
The Role
* Managing the day-to-day finance function across multiple entities
* Overseeing Xero accounting systems and maintaining financial integrity
* Managing intercompany reconciliations and related entity balances
* Preparing monthly management reports, cash flow summaries and forecasts
* Assisting with budgeting and financial planning processes
* Coordinating with external accountants and advisors
* Overseeing offshore bookkeeping and finance support staff
* Improving financial controls, reporting systems and operational processes
* Supporting property development and SDA reporting requirements
* Ensuring the group's financial records remain organised, accurate and compliant

You are a mature and commercially astute finance professional who is comfortable operating in a direct and fast-moving business environment.

Skills & Experience
* Significant Australian accounting and finance experience
* Strong multi-entity accounting experience
* Advanced Xero capability
* Experience within property development, construction or related industries
* Strong cash flow management and forecasting capability
* Experience working with companies, trusts and SMSF structures
* Ability to manage and mentor finance support staff
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

* Public practice accounting background
* Experience working within privately owned or entrepreneurial groups
* Exposure to project accounting and property development funding structures
* Experience working alongside business owners and operational management teams
