Primary objective
Provide high level administration advice and support to the Division of Surgery and Critical Care senior medical and nursing staff and
leadership to administration team. Assist and coordinate Divisional documentation, quality improvement and efficiency projects within
the Division as well as maintaining policy and procedural consistency. Manage an administration team and co-ordinate customer issue
resolution.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high-level administrative services and advice to the Division of Surgery and Critical Care supporting executive
briefs/memos/Ministerials and manage the continuous improvement of administration operating processes, procedures, and
guidelines.
2. Provide advice to the Division of Surgery and Critical Care teams on business plans, business research, and high-level support for
recruitment and other management processes including chairing or coordinating meetings as required.
3. Provide leadership, supervision and mentoring for the Anaesthetic/ICU administration team.
4. Assist the Directors Division of Surgery and Critical Care as delegated with all areas of project implementation as part of continuous
business improvement process, corporate support, and recruitment.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, protected services, and workplace.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. High level written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage, incorporating conflict resolution,
negotiation and problem-solving skills.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in business management with financial management, business planning, analysis, project
evaluation and experience in corporate support including recruitment and meeting coordination.
3. A high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation and proven ability to work independently and an ability to manage and deliver work at the
required quality within agreed timeframes.
4. Demonstrated office software experience including word processing, database and spreadsheet tools.
5. Demonstrated ability of identifying and appropriately actioning sensitive, confidential issues in a cross-cultural environment.
6. Demonstrated experience of complaint management and coordination in a sensitive, complex and professional setting.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry related experience in business, management, health or similar.
2. Demonstrated high level experience in health and health systems and a good understanding of the front-line service delivery
workplace.
