Superintendent – Autonomy Technology Systems
Work Location: Perth Office – located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Fortescue is looking for an experienced Superintendent to join the Decarb‐Autonomy Projects team. The role will spearhead the installation, maintenance and support of onboard technology and equipment for the HaulX program. This high‐impact leadership position involves driving team performance, providing technical guidance, and shaping Fortescue's next‐generation autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage onboard technology systems within the HaulX program, including installation, maintenance, technical guidance, and ongoing operational support.
* Lead technical and operational support teams to enable reliable autonomy system performance and operational readiness milestones.
* Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with company and regulatory standards.
* Drive team performance—lead supervisors, coordinators and operational teams to deliver high quality outcomes.
* Uphold and strengthen Fortescue's culture through personal accountability, transparent communication, and a consistent leadership approach.
* Plan and optimise work programs through effective resource deployment, scheduling and cost management.
* Collaborate with Project teams, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations to resolve issues, manage interfaces and support delivery outcomes.
* Coordinate and manage workflows, vendors, logistics and resources across multiple autonomy workstreams.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience leading teams across mobile equipment maintenance, technology systems and complex project environments.
* Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Network disciplines, or a tertiary Engineering qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of site‐based leadership experience within large fleet, technology‐driven or complex operational settings.
* Experience supporting autonomous haulage systems or mining technology platforms highly regarded.
* Demonstrated capability developing and leading a strong operational safety culture, supported by experience with safety management systems.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP work management systems, with experience in planning and scheduling methodologies.
* Flexible and adaptable leader with strong alignment to the Fortescue Values.
